DAYTON BATTLES PAST WESTERN MICHIGAN, 3-1

OXFORD, Ohio - Senior libero became just the 25th player all-time in NCAA history to reach 2,000 career digs as #15 Dayton outlasted Western Michigan, 3-1 (28-30, 30-18, 34-32, 30-28) on Friday at the A-10/MAC Challenge. The win lifts UD to 31-1 overall this season.

Green led all players with 26 digs on the day to become only the 25th player in NCAA Division I history to record at least 2,000 career digs. Already UD's all-time leader in digs, Green has tallied 2,013 career digs including 501 this season. She is also among the Top 25 all-time in career digs per game at 4.40.

Three different Flyers had 10 digs or more as both defenses stepped to the forefront with UD hold a .202 to .160 lead in hitting percentage. Redshirt junior Erin Schroeder finished with 19 digs, 62 assists, eight kills and a block for her fourth consecutive match with a double-double of both assists and digs.

Junior Nicole Bateman also tallied 10 digs in support of a Dayton offense that saw four Flyers finish with double-digits in kills.

A-10 First Team selections Jamie-Lee Richards and Bethany Akerhielm had 17 and 16 kills respectively to pace UD on the offensive end. They were followed by 16 kills from A-10 Rookie of the Year Lindsay Fletemier and 10 by Robynne Green.

Dayton was out blocked by the Bronco front line 12.0 to 9.0 despite six blocks from Akerhielm and three each from Kortney Norris and Yvonne Marten.
