DAYTON, Ohio - Senior Tamsyn Kellough hit a game-winning triple in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a four-run rally in a 4-3 victory over Manhattan on Sunday at the Orlando Rebel Games.
Kellough finished with two RBI while Christine Eggers was 3-for-4 and teammate Blair Crabtree was 2-for-3. Mollie Schrank and Shalyn Adamswent 1-for-3 in game two. Senior pitcher Erin Lafayette earned the win. UD improves to 2-0 on the season.
Dayton was down 3-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning as Lauren Schneider stepped up to plate earning a walk for the Flyers. Molly Meyer stepped in to run for Schneider and teammates LaFayette and Eggers followed with back-to-back singles loading the bases. Next up to bat was Schrank who singled to send plate Meyer.
Then Crabtree ripped a single to score two runs and to tie the game up for UD. With runners at first and second base, Kellough blasted a triple to right centerfield for the game-winning RBI.
Dayton has eight games left in the "Sunshine State". The Flyers will take on Mississippi Valley State and Hartford on Tuesday. Game times are set for 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. ET respectively.
