Looking to improve on last season's tenth place finish at the Atlantic 10 Tournament, the women's tennis team will enter this weekend's Championship as the No. 10 seed. The Flyers (6-17) open play on Friday, April 20 at 8:00 a.m. in Monroeville, PA against the Saint Louis Billikens.
The Billikens (12-13) enter as the No. 7 seed. The winner will face No. 2 seeded Richmond on Friday, April 20 at 3:30 p.m. The Spiders, along with No. 1 seeded Temple, earned a first-round bye in the tournament draw.
Dayton will seek revenge from a regular season contest with the Billikens on February 17 in Saint Louis, MO. The Billikens got the best of the Flyers in a 6-1 decision. Junior Allysa Detroy accounted for UD's lone point with a 2-6, 6-4, 10-8 win at No. 2 singles. Junior Megan Gray and freshman Erin Wilkie also earned a victory at No. 3 doubles in the match.
Detroy finished the spring campaign tops on the team in singles victories with 11. Sophomore Nikki Dzubay also reached double-figures with 10 wins.
The A-10 Tournament concludes on Sunday, April 22 with the Championship match slated for 10:30 a.m.
