GET TO KNOW SENIOR ELLEN NIENHAUS

Sept. 25, 2008

Throughout the 2008 season, DaytonFlyers.com will feature personal profiles on members of the women's cross country team to get to know the student-athletes behind the sport. This week senior Ellen Nienhaus shares her interests with Flyer fans.

Why did you decide to run at UD? The team was friendly and seemed to have a lot of fun. Also, I still wanted to compete and have something outside of school to work at.

What is your first ever running memory? Fondest running memory? My parents say I ran everywhere when I was little. I guess when we went to the Cincinnati Zoo I ran through it all and finished in less than an hour and a half.

What are your career goals? To work somewhere that constantly challenges me and I enjoy.

What has been your most memorable moment in life? at UD? Too many to name.

What motivates you to get up in the morning? The chance to challenge myself in both class and practice.

What do you think during a race or a long run? How good it is going to feel when I finish.

Do you have any other unique or interesting stories that a prospective recruit or media person might want to know?: UD is a really fun place with great people.
