56th Annual All-Ohio Intercollegiate Overall Division I Results
CEDARVILLE, Ohio – University of Dayton senior Chris Lemon captured the 56th Annual All-Ohio Intercollegiate Men’s 8K Championship in a course-record time of 24:11 at Cedarville University’s Elvin R. King Cross Country Course Friday.
Lemon, who became the first ever UD men's runner to win the All-Ohio 8K, beat out 266 runners to win the title and helped the Flyer men finish second in the Division I race. With the 8,000 meter men's cross country title, Lemon has completed the All-Ohio trifecta in 2010. He won the Indoor Track All-Ohio 3,000-meter championship in January 2010, captured the 10,000-meter All-Ohio Outdoor Track Championship in the spring of 2010 and completed the All-Ohio Championship Grand Slam with the victory today.
Chris’s twin brother Matt Lemon finished fourth in a time of 24:28. Sophomore Greg Roeth crossed the line in a personal best time of 24:55, edging out two runners at the finish line with a strong kick. Roeth cut 22 seconds off his personal best and is the third Flyer to join UD's elite sub-25-minute club - the other two members are Chris and Matt Lemon.
Sophomore Kyle Lowry was Dayton’s fourth man across the finish line, taking 31st in a time of 25:23, taking four seconds off his personal best. Sophomore Jeremy Schiele, fighting through an asthma attack, finished 77th in 26:09. Freshman Doug Norris was 80th in 26:14 and sophomore Nate Addessi was 110th in 26:42 for UD.
