CINCINNATI - Sophomore Colleen Williams scored two goals to lead the University of Dayton women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Xavier Friday night at XU Soccer Complex.

The win gave the Flyers (16-3, 8-1 A-10) a share of the A-10 regular season title, their 10th in 16 seasons in the conference. Charlotte can also secure a share of the championship with a win Sunday to improve to 8-1.

The goals for Williams were her 15th and 16th of the season and also marked her seventh game-winner.

She scored the game-winner in the 21st minute off an assist from fellow sophomore Alexis Garcia. Williams scored again on a breakaway from midfield in the 74th minute to give Dayton a more comfortable lead.

The Flyer defense posted its 11th shutout and senior goalkeeper Lisa Rodgers improved to 12-1 overall.

Dayton outshot the Musketeers (7-11, 3-6 A-10) 15-2 and the UD defense did not allow a single shot on goal. With the loss Xavier was eliminated from earning a berth to the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship.
