DAYTON, Ohio – After winning their seventh Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship the University of Dayton women’s soccer team is receiving national recognition.
Sophomore
Alexis Garcia was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s Team of the Week for Nov. 1-8. She was recently named the Most Outstanding Player of the Atlantic 10 Championship after scoring two golden goals, including the game-winner in Dayton’s 4-3 double overtime thriller that clinched the title for the Flyers.
Senior
Jerica DeWolfe was named a
College Soccer 360 Primetime Performer of the Week. DeWolfe, along with Colleen Williams, was also named to the A-10 All-Championship team.
In addition, Williams has vaulted to No. 36 on the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Top 100 Women’s Players. The sophomore forward is listed as the No. 1 player in the Atlantic 10. She was named the A-10 Offensive Player of the Year and has totaled 17 goals (5th NCAA) and 11 assists (15th NCAA) for 45 points (3rd NCAA).

The Flyers (18-3) are No. 15 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s Tournament 64 Ranking. UD came in at No. 20 on the final Soccer America Women’s Top 25 and No. 24 on the NCAA Women's Soccer RPI. They are also No. 34 on the SoccerTimes.com College Coaches Poll.
Dayton moved up to No. 1 in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic NCAA Regional Rankings in the final regular season poll. The Flyers are receiving votes in the NSCAA National Rankings, and are No. 32 overall.
CollegeSoccer360 has compiled a complete updated list of the nation's winningest senior classes, as of games played through Nov. 7, 2010, heading into the NCAAs. Dayton comes in at No. 15 with a 62-14-11 record over the past four years.
Dayton takes on Virginia Tech (10-9-1) this Friday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Ohio State’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
