DAYTON HOSTS TOLEDO AND CINCINNATI

DAYTON, Ohio
– Winners of three of their last four games, the University of Dayton Flyers hope to keep their offense clicking when they host Toledo and Cincinnati in midweek contests at Time Warner Cable Stadium.

Dayton took 2-of-3 from Canisius over the weekend as the highly touted offense that entered the season finally began to take shape. Dayton hit .369 in the series with 10 doubles and seven home runs. Aaron Dunsmore hit .600 with three doubles, three homers and nine RBI for an astounding 1.400 slugging percentage.

Bryce Lahrman will get the start on Tuesday against a Toledo team that beat Cincinnati in two out of three games at Marge Schott Stadium in Cincinnati. The Rockets are 9-7 and are led by Matt Delewski who is hitting .419 in 11 games played. Junior shortstop Jared Hoying was named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week after hitting .421 with seven runs scored.  The Rockets have not named a starter.

Wednesday’s game against Cincinnati will feature a number of pitchers for the Flyers as they attempt to stay fresh for their Atlantic 10 opener against La Salle this weekend. The Bearcats were on the losing end of the Toledo series going 1-2 over the weekend.  T.J. Jones leads UC hitting .339 this season. Jones also leads the team with 17 RBI. The Bearcats will start RHP Nick Johnson on Wednesday. He has yet to face a decision in two appearances and 4.0 innings pitched.

First pitch for both games is slated for 3:00 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Stadium. Mike Ivcic will have the call live on 1660 Information Radio. Admission is free of charge at the stadium.
