DAYTON - University of Dayton men's soccer freshman
Farouq Ogundare and women's soccer senior
Ella Raimondi have been named the
Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Sept. 8-14.
Ogundare, who hails from Lagos, Nigeria, earned his fourth start of the season Saturday in Dayton's 3-1 home win over Saint Joseph's, UD's only match of the week. He recorded his second assist of the season on Dayton's first goal of the match just two minutes into the contest. Ogundare then scored his first career goal in the 16th minute, which proved to be the game winner. He was also named the A-10 Rookie of the Week on Monday.
Raimondi scored her first goal of the season in Dayton's 3-0 victory over Akron in the final non-conference tune-up Friday night. The Erie, Pa. native also played a major factor in the Flyers' fifth shutout of the season, helping limit the Zips to just six total shots and none on goal. Akron did not even attempt a shot in the second half.Â
