Dayton Student-Athletes Will Be Recognized Throughout the School Year

DAYTON - University of Dayton men's cross country senior Owen Pukys and women's golf junior Kylee Heidemann have been named the Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Sept. 15-21.

Pukys won the 8k race at the George Dales Invitational on Friday in a personal best time of 24:31.3. The senior from Louisville, Ohio, led the Flyers to a third-place finish in the nine-team competition. The win continues Pukys' hot start to the cross country season after finishing in the top 10 with another PR in the season-opener at Miami (Ohio).

The Flyers were at Ball State's Brittany Kelly Classic Sept. 15-16 where Heidemann, who hails from Cincinnati, turned in her first career top-five finish. With a three-over-par three-round total (73-71-75/219), she finished in a tie for third place overall and was named to the Brittany Kelly Classic All-Tournament Team.
