DAYTON SOFTBALL SWEPT BY FORDHAM IN A-10 ACTION

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton softball squad was outscored 21-3 in two Atlantic 10 setbacks against Fordham Sunday. The Rams (23-6, 4-0 A-10) won 11-0 and 10-3.

Dayton (11-16, 2-2 A-10) had no answer for Fordham's sophomore pitcher Jen Mineau, who earned both wins on the day, striking out 26 batters. Dayton tallied 7 hits in the twinbill with senior Anne Maci going 3-for-6, earning the only hit during the first game. Freshmen Kathleen Maloof notched two hits as well, going 2-for-5 at the plate.

Offensively, the Flyers faired better in the second game tallying six hits and three runs. UD started things off quickly, adding two hits in the first inning but left both runners stranded. In the fifth, Harlow got a base on balls. Then Courtney Kutsulis drilled a homer down the left field line.

In the second game UD struggled with fielding, committing five errors and allowing six unearned runs.

Dayton will travel to Wright State in a non-conference doubleheader this Wednesday, March 31 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
