CLEVELAND -- The members of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) have selected Tim O’Connell, Senior Associate Athletics Director at the University of Dayton and Executive Director of UD Arena, to serve as the President for 2010-11. O’Connell will be the second-ever President of the Association.
O’Connell has been with the University since 1994. He is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the more than 300 annual facility and event operations for UD’s Arena Sports Complex, which includes the University of Dayton Arena, Time Warner Cable Stadium, the UD Softball Stadium and the Jerry Von Mohr football and track practice facility. O’Connell has served as Tournament Manager of all of the institution’s post-season basketball tournaments since 1998.
CEFMA also elected Andrea Williams, Associate Commissioner, Big Ten Conference as the 1st Vice President; Lisa Sweany, Senior Associate Athletics Director at Grand Valley State University as the 2nd Vice President/Treasurer; and Dawn Stewart, Director of Athletics at Capital University as the 3rd Vice President/Treasurer for 2010-11. Stewart was an Assistant Director of Athletics at UD before taking over at Capital in 2008.
