OBERSCHMIDT'S 73 HAS THE FLYERS IN 2ND AT THE FOSSUM/SPARTAN INVITE

EAST LANSING, Mich.
- Carding a first round 73, junior Michael Oberschmidt is in a tie for first among individuals at the 2010 Fossum/Spartan Invitational.

Oberschmidt’s 73 helped the University of Dayton Flyers place in a tie for second overall. UD has a team score of 305, just nine strokes back of the leader and host school, Michigan State.

Today’s play was suspended in the middle of the second round at 3:40 p.m. ET this afternoon due to heavy rains.  The second round will continue tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. ET.  The tournament has been shortened to a 36-hole event.

Senior Chris Woeste had a strong round as well carding a 76. Fellow classmate, Jeff Hodapp, was one stroke behind with a 77,

Rounding out the scoring for UD was sophomores Brenten Blakeman with a 79 and Sean Keating with an 80.
