THREE FLYERS SCORE IN DOUBLE FIGURES BUT UD FALLS 84-62 TO DUQUESNE

PITTSBURGH
– Chris Johnson scored 13, Paul Williams added 11 and Josh Benson scored 10 points as the University of Dayton Flyers fell 84-62 to the Duquesne Dukes.

Chris Wright was close to a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The 84 points allowed by the Flyers were the most this season. Dayton drops to 15-7 overall and 3-4 in the Atlantic 10.

Dayton had a three-point lead late in the first half, but Duquesne scored six straight points in the final 39 seconds for a 39-36 lead and then took control in the second half.

The Flyers had 20 turnovers, which matched a season-high. The turnovers led to 22 Duke points.

Benson, who battled flu-like symptoms in the days before the game, had another strong performance off the bench. He added four rebounds and shot 5-of-6 from the field.

Dayton returns home to face the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Wednesday, Feb. 2 beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
