DAYTON, Ohio – University of Dayton volleyball concluded its 2011 spring season on Saturday with wins against Ohio State and Ohio at the Frericks Center.

The Flyers end spring competition with an unblemished 4-0 record in exhibition play.

Head Coach Kelly Sheffield and Ohio State Head Coach Geoff Carlston are two of three coaches to be selected to coach the U.S. Women’s National A2 Program this summer in Dallas. Saturday’s exhibition between the Flyers and Buckeyes was a rematch of a 2010 NCAA Championship Second Round match, also held at the Frericks Center.

Dayton earned its fourth consecutive sweep in spring competition against Ohio in the second and final match of the day (25-18, 25-20). Krabacher again had her way on offense, issuing 13 kills on just 16 attempts for a .810 clip. Outside hitter Yvonne Marten was Dayton’s leading passer with 19 digs, while adding eight kills. Graduating senior Amanda Cowdrey suited up for the Flyers and finished with six kills on nine attempts.

The Flyers only recorded three attacking errors against the Bobcats to finish with a team hitting percentage of .560.

Dayton will return seven players for the 2011 season, which begins on Aug. 26 at the Wisconsin-Green Bay Invitational.
