Add another first for the Dayton Flyers Women’s Rowing program.
The Dayton Women's Varsity 8 was voted this week's Crew of the Week on Row2k.com for their winning their first ever Atlantic 10 Championship.
UD took 45 percent of the vote. The Flyers were better than Mercyhurst Women's Varsity 8, St. Andrews School Varsity 8, Syracuse Men's Varsity 8 and Virginia Men's Novice 8.
Row2k selects crews from College Men's Heavyweight, College Women's Openweight, College Lightweight, Junior and Club/Masters/Elite.
At the 2011 A-10 Championship, Dayton's Varsity 8 not only won, but set an Atlantic 10 Championship record winning the event by 12.25 seconds, eclipsing the previous mark of 12.0 seconds. The Flyers finished with a time of 7:52.20.

Michael Wenker was honored as the A-10 Coach of the Year in his first season as UD’s head coach. Wonders was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, while Katerine Bruening and Kristin Dormish were named Second Team All-Atlantic 10.
Up next for the Flyers is a four-team event against the Ohio State, Cincinnati and Michigan State club programs.
