UD IN 5TH AFTER DAY ONE OF THE ROBERT KEPLER INTERCOLLEGIATE

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior Michael Oberschmidt shot a one-under par 70 in round two as the Dayton Flyers are in a three-way tie for fifth at the 2011 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate.

Dayton carded a team score of 302 in the first round and a 297 in the second. UD is tied with Minnesota and Ball State.

Oberschmidt is tied for 11th among individuals. He had a 76 in round one, but sank three birdies in his final 10 holes to go one-under in the second.

In addition, Oberschmidt's 70 matches his season-best. He had a 70 earlier in the spring at the Butler Invitational.

Sophomore Brenten Blakeman continued his solid play. He shot a two-over 73 in the first 18 holes of play and added a 76 in the second. He is tied for 21st.

Next up was sophomore Sean Keating, who battled back from a slow start. He had a 78 in round one, but found his rhythm and carded a 74 in the second round.

In the first round, Chris Woeste shot a 75 and had three birdies in the round. He added a 77 in his next 18 holes.

Sophomore Matt Buse rounded out the scoring. He finished with an 82 in the first round and a 81 in the second.

The third and final round will take place on Sunday, April 24 from the Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University.
