The University of Dayton men’s and women’s tennis teams celebrated the end of the 2010-2011 season with special banquets held last week.
For the women, freshman
Claire Dreyer earned the White Allen Most Valuable Player Award. Playing at the number 1position in singles, Dreyer finished 5-9. Playing number 1 in doubles, she finished 4-9. Dreyer was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team.
Erin Filbrandt earned this season’s Most Improved Player Award. She finished 2-11 this season playing the 4, 5, and 6 positions in singles. This season’s Double’s Award went to
Laina Grote and
Loni Dickerhoof. The pair went 10-5 this season playing the number 2 position for the Flyers.
For the men, Andrew Hanley earned this season’s Most Improved Player Award. Hanley finished 3-10 playing the number 2 and 3 positions for the Flyers in singles. In doubles play, Hanley finished 5-10. The Outstanding Performer Award was given to Robert Salcedo. Salcedo finished 1-14 in singles and 4-11 in doubles play.
