Kathleen Beljan's Lowe's Senior CLASS Profile | Complete List of Men's and Women's Soccer Top 30

DAYTON, Ohio –
University of Dayton women’s soccer player Kathleen Beljan has been selected as a candidate for the 2011 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. She is one of 30 female student-athletes in the country to be considered for the prestigious honor that celebrates a senior’s commitment to the community, classroom, competition and character.

Beljan is the third UD women’s soccer player to be named to the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Top 30 since the award was started in 2007. Amanda Gallow was selected in 2008 and Kelly Blumenschein made last year’s list. Alex Torda and Ben Murray were both named to the men’s soccer list in 2009, Tommy Watkins earned the honor in 2010 and Jack Pearson was named to the Top 30 this season for the Flyers.

Dayton was one of seven universities to have both a female and male candidate selected this year. The others were: Missouri State, Notre Dame, Santa Clara, UCLA, UC Irvine and Washington.
Beljan is the lone representative from the Atlantic 10 named to the list.

Each of the 30 candidate classes will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one male candidate and one female candidate who best exemplify excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition. ?
