FLYERS MOVE UP TO NO. 14 IN AVCA TOP 25

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Dayton volleyball team bettered its position in the AVCA rankings this week, moving ahead to No. 14 overall.

The Flyers won both matches last week and improved their record to 19-4 overall and 11-0 in Atlantic 10 play.  Dayton defeated George Washington on Friday night, then followed that up with a 3-0 sweep of Duquesne Saturday night for Senior Night.

After coming in at No. 15 last week, the Flyers moved up one spot to 14th.  They passed San Diego, who fell from No. 14 to No. 18.  Stanford took over the top spot, ending Penn State's run as No. 1.  Oregon, Penn State, Nebraska, and UCLA rounded out the top five.

UD has won 11 straight contests and hasn't loss since Sept. 15 to current No. 16 team Kansas State.

The Flyers will defend their ranking this Wednesday when they host Cincinnati at 7 p.m. in the Frericks Center.
