MUNCIE, Ind. – Sean Keating’s first two rounds of 75 and 74 highlighted the Dayton Flyers’ efforts after day one of the 2012 Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational.
Keating had only one birdie through his first 36 holes of action, but is among the top 30 individuals.
Tyler Hohman was next up after shooting a 75 in round one and a 79 in the second. Hohman’s first round had two birdies on the front nine.
Matt Buse tallied a 76 in his first round of play and a 79 in the second. John Muir recorded a 77 in round one and a 78 in the second.
George Rohde III fired an 80 in the first 18 holes of play and improved in round two with a 76.
Craig Purpus made his spring season debut with an 80 in round one and a 77 on his next 18 holes of play. For Purpus, his 77 in round two was a career best.
The tournament takes the top five scores out of six competing players. All of Dayton’s previous tournaments this year has the top four individuals count for the team score out of five.
Because of that, Dayton’s team scores are higher than usual. In round one, UD had a 383 total and in round two a 384. The Flyers are in 11th after the first two rounds.
The third and final round will take place at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind. The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. ET Sunday, April 22.
