DAYTON, Ohio – Freshman Krista Gustafson hit a grand slam on Saturday in Dayton’s exhibition win over the Miami RedHawks at UD Softball Stadium. Dayton beat Miami 4-2 and then came from behind to beat Northern Kentucky 7-6 for two wins.

Senior Kathleen Maloof was 3-for-6 with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Junior Kasi Vazquez had two RBI on a home run. Sophomore Natalie Mariano was 3-for-5 and junior Jenna Lopes was 3-for-6.

Sophomore Kayla English pitched 5.0 innings and had nine strikeouts. Junior Alysha Isaacson had four strikeouts in eight innings pitched. Sydney Cicchetti also saw action in the circle for UD.

Dayton will host an intrasquad game on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. and an alumni game at 12 p.m. on Sept. 23.
