Isolde Hannan earned mention as the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week Monday as announced by the league office. This is the first weekly honor this season and fifth of her career for the Dublin, Ohio, native.
VCU sophomore Romana Kriskova earned her league-leading fourth Player of the Week nod while Duquesne freshman Lacey Levers was named Rookie of the Week. The awards were for matches played October 14-20.
Hannan was the Flyers' leading blocker with 2.14 per set over the weekend as Dayton picked up two league wins. A middle hitter, she recorded seven blocks to go with six kills on Friday against Fordham. Hannan followed that performance with eight blocks, five kills against Rhode Island. She also posted a .500 hitting percentage after swinging error-free in 10 attempts versus Rhody.
Dayton returns to action on Saturday with a 7 p.m. match-up at Duquesne in its only contest of the week.
