HUNTER EARNS SPOT ON 2013 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PERFORMANCE AWARD WATCH LIST

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- College Football Performance Awards, the largest awards organization in D-I college football, recently announced that University of Dayton senior Gary Hunter is one of 33 Football Championship Subdivision players named to its 2013 CFPA Punt Returner Award Watch List.

Hunter was UD’s top kick returner last season.  He returned four punts for a 25.5 yard average and 20 kickoffs for a 21.2 yard average.  He led Dayton in all-purpose yardage in 2012 (79.4 yards per game in nine games).  The Detroit native is already just the second Flyer football player to have three special teams TD’s in his career.

The CFPA's best college returner awards date back to 2008 with Alabama's Javier Arenas earning the inaugural award.

The full list of 2013 recipients, including the 2013 CFPA FCS Awards, will be announced on January 8, 2014.
