DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton softball's Tiffany Ricks has been named the CollegeSportsMadness.com Atlantic 10 Player of the Week as announced by the Web site Tuesday morning. This is the first regular-season weekly award from the national Web site for Ricks this season.

The Reynoldsburg, Ohio, native started all five games this past weekend at first base as the Flyers went 3-2 at the Tennessee State Tiger Classic. Ricks had a perfect outing against Temple on Friday, going 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and home run. She also had a multiple-hit game in UD's win over Youngstown State on Saturday, going 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a RBI. On Sunday, Ricks knocked out a three-run blast, her second home run of the weekend and third of the season, in the first inning to put Dayton up 3-0. She posted a .789 slugging percentage and a .368 average and on-base percentage for the weekend and was named to the Tiger Classic All-Tournament Team.

Dayton (3-7) will return to action this coming weekend as the team travels to Elon, N.C., to take part in the Elon Phoenix Tournament. The Flyers will kick off the weekend against the host Phoenix on Saturday, March 1 at 2:30 p.m.
