DAYTON BASEBALL SUFFERS DEFEAT IN SERIES FINALE

Box Score
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The University of Dayton baseball team dropped the final game at Saint Joseph's on Saturday, 10-2.

The Flyers didn't take long to put a run on the board, scoring twice in the top of the first. Senior Ryan Berry hit a two-run home run to deep left field, his sixth long ball of the season.

That would be all the scoring Dayton would get in the contest though as Saint Joseph's went on to score two runs in the bottom of the first, single runs in the third, fourth, and seventh, and five runs in the eighth.

Starter Charlie Dant (4-4) was saddled with the loss after giving up the go-ahead run in the third. He finished the day with four runs allowed in three innings.

Berry led the way offensively while junior Alex Harris chipped in two runs and scored once. Dayton managed just four hits in the contest compared to the Hawks' 15 hits.

The Flyers (17-19, 9-6 A-10) will take on Miami in Oxford, Ohio on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
