DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton baseball team will play a pair of mid-week, non-conference games on the road this week. Tuesday, the Flyers will head southwest to Oxford, Ohio for a meeting with the Miami Redhawks at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, UD will then travel north to Toledo for a showdown with the Rockets at 3 p.m.

The Flyers enter the week with a 17-19 record overall and 7-11 road mark. Dayton is coming off a tough series loss at Saint Joseph's this past weekend, but prior to that, had won five games in a row.

Miami (Ohio) is 18-20 this season and 8-4 in home games. The Redhawks are on a roll right now, winning the past five contests, including wins over Eastern Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, and Kent State.

Toledo has compiled a 15-22 record overall and five wins in 12 tries at home. The Rockets most recently took two of three games from Ohio in MAC play and had a close 4-3 loss against Notre Dame prior to that.

DAYTON NOTES
- As a team, Dayton is batting .263 with 75 doubles, 60 stolen bases, and 16 home runs in 36 games. The Flyers have a .374 slugging percentage and a .352 on-base percentage to go with 104 walks and 67 hit by pitches.
- Leading the team is Robby Sunderman, with a .379 average, 34 runs scored, 14 doubles, and 11 steals. AJ Ryan has chipped in 25 RBI and a .360 average while Aaron Huesman and Alex Harris have combined for 44 RBI.
- The Dayton pitching staff has a team ERA of 6.19 and 179 strikeouts compared to 149 walks. Freshman right-handed pitcher Nick Gobert (2-1, 3 starts, 7 Ks) will get the start on Tuesday, but Wednesday's starter is TBA.
- Dayton defensively has a .962 fielding percentage and 53 errors in 1,411 chances. The Flyers have turned 32 double plays this season, which ranks 19th in the nation.
 
MIAMI (OHIO) NOTES
- Miami has a team batting average of .289 with a slugging percentage of .399 and an on-base percentage of .365. The RedHawks have stolen 45 bases and hit 19 triples this season, the ninth most in Division I.
- MU is led by Dan Walsh, who has 24 RBI and a .367 average, and Gary Russo, who has 28 RBI and sis home runs.
- The RedHawk pitching staff has an ERA of 5.35 and 244 strikeouts in 328 innings of work. Wynston McMartin and Charles Zubrod have three saves apiece to anchor the bullpen while Christian Bokich (4.00 ERA, 0 starts, 10 Ks) will start against the Flyers.
- The defense for Miami has combined for a .956 fielding percentage and 60 errors through 38 games.
 
TOLEDO NOTES
- Toledo is batting .241 overall with a .314 slugging percentage and a .314 on-base percentage. The Rockets have also stolen 38 bases and drawn 107 walks.
- Leading the way for UT is Dan Zuchowski, who has 26 RBI, three home runs, and eight doubles. Tyler Grogg has also stolen 19 bases in 24 attempts and leads the team with 25 runs scored.
- The pitching staff for the Rockets has an ERA of 4.25 and 240 strikeouts in 37 games. Adam Tyson is the main closer with four saves. Wednesday's starter is TBA.
- Toledo defensively has a fielding percentage of .972 and 41 errors compared to 33 double plays.
 
LAST MEETING
The last time Dayton faced off against Miami (OH) was on March 14 earlier this year when the Flyers dropped an 8-4 decision on the road in Oxford. Sunderman had four hits and an RBI in the game. Dayton and Toledo met back on March 19 in Xenia and the Rockets came out on top, 11-6. Sergio Plasencia had three hits, an RBI, and scored twice in the contest.

The weather forecast on Tuesday in Oxford, Ohio is low-60's with a 20% chance of rain and winds of 19 mph. On Wednesday in Toledo, it is expected to be high-50's with a 10% chance of rain and winds of 10 mph.
