MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES WELL AT MIAMI

Kyle Lach Turns In Record Performance in 1,500-Meter Run

Final Results

OXFORD, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's cross country team had five quality performances at the Miami University Track and Field Invitational Saturday.

"We had five quality performances and they were all personal bests," said UD Head Coach Rich Davis. "We are improving as individuals and the quality performances are competitive performances that we're looking to build upon as we head into the fall season."

The Flyers had five quality finishers at the D-I level in the 5,000-meter run. Freshmen Hunter Johnston (15:34) and Ethan Louis (15:53) paced UD, while sophomore Matt Krakora ran it in 15:54. Seniors Tyler Roeth (15:13) and Eric Gruenbacher (15:15) took ninth and 10th place, respectively.

In the 1,500-meter run freshman Mike Tymoski turned in a time of 4:11, but the outstanding performer of the week for the Flyers was freshman Kyle Lach who ran it in 3:58, which is the second fastest 1,500-meter run in Flyer cross country history. Lach was just one second from taking first place in the event.

"The team has performed well. We are looking to translate this into a solid All-Ohio meet next week and a solid summer of training leading into our fall cross country season," said Davis.
