DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton baseball team will head back on the road for a three-game series with the Billikens of Saint Louis University this weekend. The Flyers take on SLU Friday at 7 p.m. before meeting at 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. All times listed are Eastern Time.

WEEKEND PREVIEW
• The Flyers enter the series with a 19-22 record overall and 10-8 Atlantic 10 record. UD is 8-12 away from home in 2014, but coming off a big 5-1 win over St. Bonaventure last weekend in which the Flyers nearly no-hit the Bonnies. Dayton is currently fifth in the A-10 standings and is looking to secure a spot in the Top 7 for a shot at the postseason.
• Saint Louis is second in the A-10 standings at this point in the season, and boasts a 12-5 conference record. Overall this season, the Billikens are 25-17 and have been formidable at home with a 14-3 record at the Billiken Sports Center. Head coach Darin Hendrickson is hoping to lead SLU to its third-straight A-10 Championship, but will have to get past the Flyers first.

WHO TO WATCH - DAYTON
• The Dayton offense is batting .269 as a team with 87 doubles, 72 stolen bases, and 127 walks this season. The Flyers also have 79 hit by pitches and a .360 on-base percentage.
• Leading the way for Dayton is Robby Sunderman, who is batting. 366 with 41 runs, 15 doubles, 18 RBI, and 15 steals, and AJ Ryan, who is batting .349 with 29 RBI and a .528 slugging percentage. Alex Harris has chipped in a .333 average, 36 runs, 25 RBI, and 11 steals.
• The UD pitching staff has a team ERA of 5.98 with 205 strikeouts compared to 171 walks. Nick Weybright and Nate Harris both have three saves apiece while Bryce Lahrman has two.
• Getting the start for Dayton this weekend will be freshman Nick Gobert (7.71 ERA, 3-1, 4 starts), junior Noah Buettgen (5-5, 4.02 ERA, 45 k's), and sophomore Charlie Dant (4.30 ERA, 5-5, 46 k's).
• In the Atlantic 10 conference, the Flyers rank fourth in batting average, 11th in team ERA, and sixth in fielding percentage. Individually, Sunderman is third and Ryan is seventh in batting average. Sunderman also leads the league in hits, ranks third in runs scored, second in doubles, and fourth in stolen bases. Ryan Berry is tied for second in home runs in the A-10 with six this season. Alex Harris is sixth in runs scored per game and doubles per game.

WHO TO WATCH - SAINT LOUIS
• Saint Louis is batting .263 as a team with 98 extra-base hits, 55 steals, and a .363 slugging percentage in 42 games. The Billikens have walked 151 times this year as well.
• Mike Vigliarolo powers the offense with a .313 average, six home runs, 15 doubles, and 29 RBI. Michael Bozarth has stolen 15 bases and driven in 11 while Braxton Martinez has four home runs and 23 RBI.
• The Billikens' pitching staff is one of the tops in the league with a 3.68 ERA as a team, and 278 strikeouts in 382 innings of work. Matt Eckelman has cemented himself in the closer's role with seven saves, a 5-2 record, and a 1.33 ERA in 15 appearances.
• The starters against Dayton this weekend will be James Norwood (2.27 ERA, 5-1, 57 k's) on Friday and Nick Bates (3.61 ERA, 5-1, 51 k's) on Saturday. Sunday's starter is TBD.
• SLU has the 21st-best fielding percentage in the nation at .977.
• In the Atlantic 10, Saint Louis ranks eighth in batting average, fourth in team ERA, and first in fielding percentage. Individually, Norwood is fifth in ERA and third in strikeouts while Vigliarolo is second to UD's Sunderman in total hits. Vigliarolo is also second in doubles and home runs while leading the A-10 in total bases. Bozarth ranks second in steals this year.

NATIONAL RANKINGS
Dayton currently ranks 10th in doubles per game and 19th in total doubles, while being 19th in stolen bases per game and 18th in total steals. The Flyers also have the seventh most hit by pitches this season. Individually, Sunderman is 32nd in runs per game, 39th in total runs, 77th in hits, and 41st in doubles per game. Alex Harris is 23rd in on-base percentage and 22nd in hit by pitches. Huesman and Berry are also top 50 in hit by pitch as well. Pitching-wise, Buettgen is ninth in complete games with four.

AGAINST THIS OPPONENT
Dayton last played Saint Louis in a three-game series over March 22 -23 of last season. The Billikens came into Dayton and took all three games from the Flyers for a series sweep. SLU outscored UD 30-7 in the set.

Head coach Tony Vittorio recorded his 400th win at the University of Dayton on Sunday, April 12, 2014 with a 9-5 victory over Rhode Island at home.
