Box Score WASHINTON, D.C. – The University of Dayton baseball team faced George Washington for game two of the series Saturday and suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Colonials.
It wasn't until the fifth inning that either team would strike as GW took a 2-0 lead with a two-run single to right-center.
The Flyers answered in the sixth with a single run of their own thanks to a senior
Sergio Plasencia, who managed to score despite a double play groundout.
GW got the run back in the seventh with a double to left-center, making it a 3-1 contest. Another run in the eighth made it a three-run game as Dayton headed to its final at-bat of the day.
The Flyers were unable to score the necessary runs to keep the game going in the ninth frame and fell to the Colonials 4-1.
Dayton did manage to record eight hits in the contest, but left the remaining runners stranded. Plasencia and junior
Aaron Huesman led the way with a pair of 2-for-4 outings.
Starter
