DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton baseball team will play a pair of mid-week road games as it takes on Ohio Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Butler Wednesday at 3 p.m.

TEAM PREVIEWS

• Dayton enters the week with a 13-32 record overall and a 2-12 mark on the road. The Flyers are coming off a big comeback win over Alabama A&M this past Sunday, 5-4. Head Coach Tony Vittorio is in his 16^th year at the helm of Dayton.
• Ohio is 27-17 overall and 8-7 in home games in Athens. This will be the final home game for the Bobcats this season, who are winners of five of their last seven games. Most recently though, Ohio dropped two of three at home to Toledo, a team the Flyers have defeated twice this year.
• Butler will be hosting Dayton on Wednesday with an 18-27 record on the season and 9-8 home mark. The Bulldogs are led by 23^rd-year head coach Steve Farley, who has over 600 wins in his career. Butler is coming off a loss to Villanova at home on Sunday, but won the first two games of the series.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Dayton is batting .240 as a team with a .337 slugging percentage and a .331 on-base percentage. Through 45 games, the Flyers have 103 extra-base hits and 47 steals.
• Leading the way for UD is senior A.J. Ryan, who has seven home runs and 24 RBI while fellow senior Zach Schira has chipped in 22 RBI.
• Dayton will pitch right-handed sophomore Nick Gobert on Tuesday against the Bobcats. This season, he has a 3.81 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 12 appearances, including one start. Wednesday's pitcher is TBA.
• Dayton defensively has a .959 fielding percentage with 72 errors.

 

• Ohio has a team batting average of .280 with 16 home runs, 35 stolen bases, and a .361 on-base percentage.
• Sophomore Mitch Longo is the biggest offensive threat with 70 hits and 36 RBI to go with his .374 average. Seniors Jake Madsen and Tyler Wells have combined for another 69 RBI as well.
• Ohio will throw senior lefty Evan Geist against the Flyers on Tuesday. In eight starts, Geist has a 6.75 ERA, 2-2 record, and 33 strikeouts in 29 1/3 innings.
• As a team, the Bobcats have a .962 fielding percentage with 67 errors in 44 games.

 

• Butler is batting for a .277 average as a team with a .354 on-base percentage and a .367 slugging percentage. The Bulldogs have 83 doubles on the year and 152 free-passes.
• Senior Ryan Wojciechowski leads Butler with 32 RBI and 13 doubles while batting .312. Sophomore Drew Small has chipped in 21 RBI, 10 steals, and 30 runs scored.
• Butler's pitching staff has combined for an ERA of 4.83 and 266 strikeouts compared to 150 walks.
• Defensively, the Bulldogs have a .969 fielding percentage and 53 errors in 45 games.

 
LAST MEETING

• Dayton last played Ohio on May 7, 2013 at Woerner Field. On that day, the Flyers were victorious, 2-1 thanks to Charlie Dant's 8 1/3 inning performance on the mound.
• The Flyers and Bulldogs met earlier this season on April 8 with Butler coming into Dayton and taking an 8-6 win over the host Flyers, scoring five runs in the final two innings. In that contest, Wojciechowski drove in three while going 3-for-3.
