University of Dayton softball had a phenomenal season in 2015 with the following team accomplishments:
• Earned the program's first Atlantic 10 Regular Season title
• Broke the UD record for single-season wins – 39
• Made its third consecutive, fourth in the last five years, and seventh overall appearance in the A-10 Championship
• Advanced to the A-10 Tournament Championship final for the first time in history
• Broke the program's single-season record for conference wins with 20 (the old record was 12)
• Went undefeated at home for the first time in program history
• Set new program records in: batting average (.291), saves (10), wins (39), winning percentage (.736), strikeouts (353), shutouts (12), runs allowed (155), earned runs allowed (118), hits allowed (296), doubles allowed (60), triples allowed (13), home runs allowed (24)
• Swept six of its eight A-10 series and did not lose any of its conference series
• A program-record four Flyers earned NFCA All-Region honors• 12 Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors including a sweep of the major awards: Coach of the Year (
Cara LaPlaca), Player of the Year (
Tiffany Ricks), Pitcher of the Year (
Kayla English), Rookie of the Year (
Manda Cash)
• Five A-10 Pitcher of the Week Awards
• Six A-10 Rookie of the Week Awards
• Two A-10 Player of the Week Awards
• Three College Sports Madness Players of the Week
• One NFCA National Pitcher of the Week
• UD program single season pitching records set in 2015: saves (10), wins (39), winning percentage (.736), strikeouts (353), shutouts (12), runs allowed (155), earned runs (118), hits allowed (296), doubles allowed (60), triples allowed (13), homeruns allowed (24).
• The senior class of Lyndsey Diggs, Kayla English, Natalie Mariano, Tiffany Ricks are the winningest class in program history with 110 victories in their career. Â
