DAYTON, Ohio - For the second half of its six-match homestand, Dayton volleyball will be hosting the Flyer Invitational Sept. 18-19 at Frericks Center. The field of four includes Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Jacksonville and host Dayton. A total of six matches will be played this weekend, two Friday and four Saturday. Admission to Frericks Center is free.

About the Field
• Eastern Michigan (7-3): The Eagles are coming off a 2-2 weekend at the Indiana State Sycamore Holiday Inn Classic. Eastern Michigan finished the tourney with a 3-2 win over UT Martin - a team Dayton defeated 3-0 on Sept. 5. EMU is led by Stacey Perinar with 4.18 kills/set to go with 3.26 digs/set.
• Illinois State (8-2): The Redbirds are currently enjoying an eight-match winning streak after opening the season with two losses. Illinois State picked up a 3-1 win at UIC Tuesday and was at home last weekend, defeating Youngstown State, IUPUI and Toledo. ISU is led by Ashley Rosch with 3.66 kills/set while Courtney Pence passes 4.91 digs/set.
• Jacksonville (3-6): The Dolphins were in Charleston, S.C., last weekend for the College of Charleston Challenge and snapped a five-match skid with a 3-0 win over Wofford to close out the tourney. Jacksonville's roster features former Flyer Lauren Gresham, a sophomore outside hitter that tallies 2.32 kills/set. JU is led by Laskelle with 3.80 kills/set and Mayara Prestes with 6.09 digs/set.

Series Stuff
• Dayton and Eastern Michigan have previously met five times with the Flyers holding a slim 3-2 margin in the series. The pair last squared off on Sept. 8, 2000 as UD swept EMU at Frericks Center.
• Illinois State owns a 4-2 advantage in the all-time series between the Flyers and the Redbirds. Dayton has won the last two meetings, including a 3-0 win on Sept. 4, 2009.
• The Flyers have won both of their previous meetings with the Jacksonville Dolphins. The two last met one year ago in JU's Swisher Gym as Dayton picked up a straight-set sweep.

Flyer Facts
• Tim Horsmon is in his seventh season overall, and second since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2015. His record at Dayton is 162-54 and his career win-loss mark sits at 338-218 in 17 seasons as a head coach.
• With 14.14 kills/set as a team, Dayton leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks 26th among 329 NCAA DI institutions. The Flyers also lead the A-10 in hitting percentage (.251 - 56th NCAA) and assists/set (13.09 - 33rd NCAA).
• Individually, senior Alaina Turner ranks first in the A-10 and 37th in the NCAA with 4.18 kills/set while sophomore Jane Emmenecker is first in the league with 11.73 assists/set. Also among the top 10 in the league are: senior Janna Krafka - 2nd, 4.35 digs/set; sophomore Amber Erhahon -, 3rd, 1.18 blocks/set and 9th, .294 hitting percentage; senior Jenna Jendryk - 6th, .328 hitting percentage; Turner - 6th, 0.38 service aces; senior Jill Loiars - 10th, 2.69 kills/set;
• Dayton returns the 2014 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in senior Alaina Turner, the A-10 Setter of the Year in sophomore Jane Emmenecker and the A-10 Libero of the Year in senior Janna Krafka.
• The Flyers finished the 2014 season with a 30-6 overall record and with a 13-1 Atlantic 10, finishing in first place in regular-season league play. 2014 was the program's third 30-win season of the modern-DI era.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title 11 times (2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2001, 1998). The Flyers have won the A-10 Championship title a league-record nine times (2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003) and made their 10th NCAA appearance in program history in 2014.
• Over the last six seasons (2009-2014), the Flyers have recorded a 78-9 mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2014, 2011 and 2009.

Moving up the Ranks
With 1,151 career kills, senior Alaina Turner is moving up the ranks in UD's record book. She's just 350 kills away from usurping former Flyer All-American Rachel Krabacher who currently holds the number-five slot with 1,500 kills. Currently in second place on the all-time career digs list (1,700), senior Janna Krafka is only 371 digs away from become Dayton's career digs record holder, replacing Adrienne Green (2,070).

You "Kill" Me
With 12.24 attacks/set, senior Alaina Turner ranks 13th in the NCAA while scoring 4.82 points/set which comes in at 26th in the nation. The A-10's leading attacker, Turner ranks 37th with 4.18 kills/set, 38th in the NCAA with 416 total attacks and 62nd with 142 total kills.

Dayton Invitational All-Tournament Team
After a 2-1 weekend at its first home tournament of 2015, Dayton was rewarded with two names on the All-Tournament Team roster. Senior Jenna Jendryk was named the tournament's MVP and senior Angel Agu joined her on the all-tourney team.

Erhahon Earns UD's First Weekly Award
Sophomore Amber Erhahon picked up the squad's first A-10 weekly award of the season on Tuesday after being named the league's Defensive Player of the Week. Erhahon averaged 1.40 blocks/set, 1.90 kills/set and 3.05 points/set over the weekend and was named to the Saluki Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Saluki Invitational Honors
Three Flyers earned all-tournament honors at the Comfort Inn Saluki Invitational Sept. 4-5. Senior Alaina Turner was named MVP of the weekend while senior Janna Krafka and sophomore Amber Erhahon joined Turner on the All-Tournament squad.

UD Picked First in 2015 A-10 Preseason Poll
Dayton has been chosen to finish in first place in the Atlantic 10 for 2015. The Flyers, winners of five of the last six A-10 titles, tallied 88 points in voting among the league's head coaches (including eight of 10 first-place votes). George Washington was selected to finish second.

13th to 1,000
With two wins at the 2014 Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational, Dayton surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program and is just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers currently rank 13th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,032-562 (.647) over 46 seasons (1970).

2014 Atlantic 10 Coach, Player, Libero and Setter of the Year ...
The Flyers claimed four of the five yearly awards given out by the Atlantic 10 as announced by the league office on Nov. 20: Tim Horsmon - Coach of the Year, Alaina Turner - Player of the Year, Janna Krafka - Libero of the Year and Jane Emmenecker - Setter of the Year. This is the first end-of-the-year award for each student-athlete and the second time coach Horsmon (2005) has been recognized.

Up Next
Dayton will enter Atlantic 10 Conference play next week with back-to-back matches on the road. On Friday, Sept. 26, the Flyers will be in Pittsburgh to take on the Duquesne Dukes in the teams' first league match. Saturday, Dayton will scoot over to Philadelphia for a 7 p.m. match-up against La Salle.
