Erhahon Defensive Player of the Week

ERHAHON NAMED A-10 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Erhahon averaged 1.40 blocks/set, 1.90 kills/set and 3.05 points/set over the weekend

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton volleyball's sophomore Amber Erhahon has been named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office. George Washington junior Chidima Osuchukwu was named the Player of the Week while Davidson freshman Mason Rooney was selected as the league's Rookie of the Week. All three awards were for matches played Aug. 31 – Sept. 6.

Erhahon tallied 14 total blocks over the weekend as Dayton went 2-1 at the Southern Illinois Saluki Invitational. She had four blocks (one solo, three assist) to go with seven kills and one dig against Southern Illinois Friday. A native of Albany, Calif., the middle blocker also had four blocks (two solo, two assist) along with five kills and an ace Saturday against UT Martin. She closed out the week with total six total blocks (two solo, four assist) while recording seven kills in Saturday's upset of No. 20 Western Kentucky. Erhahon averaged 1.40 blocks/set, 1.90 kills/set and 3.05 points/set over the weekend and was named to the Saluki Invitational All-Tournament Team.

This is the first weekly award for the Flyers this season and Erhahon's third career Defensive Player of the Week nod.

Dayton opens the home portion of its 2015 schedule this coming weekend with the Dayton Invitational at Frericks Center Sept. 11-12. Dayton will play host to Baylor, Cleveland State and Eastern Illinois. For more information, click here.
