WEEKEND PREVIEW
• The University of Dayton baseball team will host Toledo in the final non-conference game before the start of the Atlantic 10 season. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.  at Woerner Field with the game being televised on Time Warner Cable. Check your local listings for the channel.
• The Flyers enter the contest with a 4-14 record overall, but two of their wins have come at home (vs. Miami and Oakland). Dayton is led by head coach Tony Vittorio who is in his 17th season at the helm.
• Toledo is 3-17-1 this season and 3-14 away from home. The Rockets are on a two-game losing streak, but have faced a tough slate this season with Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Duke, Florida State, Notre Dame, and Indiana. Head coach Corey Mee is in his 13th season in charge.

WHO TO WATCH - DAYTON
• The Flyers are batting .220 with 37 extra-base hits and a .320 slugging percentage and 11 steals.
• Leading the way for Dayton is Robbie Doring, who has driven in 13 on five home runs and four doubles to go with a .308 average. Aaron Huesman, Mark Giesler, and Nick Weybright have eached plated six runs as well.
• Dayton's pitching staff has a team ERA of 5.77 with 98 strikeouts compared to 67 walks in 151 1/3 innings of work.
• The starter is TBA.
• The Flyers have had a strong season defensively, recording a .971 fielding percentage and 19 errors.

WHO TO WATCH - THE OPPONENT
• Toledo offensively is batting .194 through 21 games including 30 doubles, eight home runs, and 10 steals.
• Leading the Rockets are Deion Tansel, with nine RBI and 11 runs, and John Martillotta, with six RBI and four extra-base hits.
• As a pitching staff, Toledo has a 5.41 ERA with 104 strikeouts and 86 walks in 176 1/3 innings.
• The projected starter will be Parker Ruffer, who has yet to make a start this season. He has a 6.75 ERA in three relief appearances.
• Defensively, Toledo has a .969 fielding percentage with 24 errors and 18 double plays.

LAST MEETING
Dayton and Toledo met last season on April 14 with the Flyers defending their home field with a 3-0 win over the Rockets. Matt Poland homered and scored twice in the victory for UD. Ben Polansky threw a complete game shutout as well.

LAST OUTING
The Flyers were victorious in the final game of the four-game series at Ball State this past weekend, 3-1. Beaver earned the win on the mound while Piersol got the save. Jones, Giesler, and Poland provided the RBI.

The Rockets dropped a 5-1 decision at Indiana Sunday after a four-run fourth doomed the Rockets. Matt Hansen drove in the lone run for Toledo.

UP NEXT
The Flyers will open up the Atlantic 10 season with Saint Louis starting at home on Friday. It will be a three-game series between the Flyers and Billikens.
