NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton sophomore
Manda Cash was named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week for her performance in games played March 14-20.
The award is the second of the 2016 campaign for Cash and the third time this season that a Flyer hurler has won Pitcher of the Week.
Cash put together two dominating performances against Akron on Sunday, March 20. The day started with the Columbus, Ohio native baffling the Zips' bats to the tune of a complete game shutout in Dayton's 5-0 win in Game One. She allowed just three base hits and struck out nine in the process.
In Game Two of the day, Cash came in to record the final four outs and did so against the minimum, picking up her third save of the season.
Dayton returns to action on Tuesday, March 21 when they host Wright State at UD Softball Stadium at 4 p.m.
