DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton baseball team will host Miami of Ohio on Tuesday, March 8 at 3 p.m. at Woerner Field before traveling down to Oxford on Wednesday, March 9 for a 6 p.m. contest at McKie Field.
Dayton enters the week with a 1-8 record overall, but will play its first home game of the season on Tuesday. The Flyers have played two series in South Carolina (Spartanburg Classic and Furman) and one in North Carolina (High Point) so far this season. Head coach
Tony Vittorio is in his 17
th year at the helm and is looking to get UD back to postseason play.
Miami (Ohio) is 5-4 overall this year, also playing all nine games on the road. The RedHawks have a series win over Tennessee Tech and victories over Campbell, Belmont, and Middle Tennessee under their belt. Wednesday will be Miami's first home game of the season after one more road game at Dayton on Tuesday. Head coach Danny Hayden is in his third season in charge.

The RedHawks are led by senior Gary Russo, who has six home runs, 14 RBI, and a .378 average. Four other Miami hitters are batting over .300, including sophomore Ross Haffey's .444 mark to go with his 16 RBI.
• The pitching for the RedHawks has been similar to Dayton's in that Miami has a team ERA of 7.13. The RedHawks have 66 strikeouts compared to 44 walks in 77 innings this season. Starters are also TBD.
