WEEKEND PREVIEW
• The University of Dayton baseball team will welcome George Washington this weekend in a three-game conference series at Woerner Field. The set begins Friday at 3 p.m. with game two Saturday at 1 p.m. and the finale Sunday at 12 p.m.
• The Flyers enter the weekend with a 13-25 record overall and a 4-8 Atlantic 10 mark. Dayton is currently 10th in the league standings, just outside of the postseason spots. This weekend can go a long way in helping head coach
Tony Vittorio get back to the conference tournament.
• George Washington heads into the series in a comfortable position in the A-10 standings, sitting in a tie for third place with a 6-3 league mark. Overall, the Colonials are 17-21 this season under fourth-year head coach Gregg Ritchie. Prior to the loss in its last outing, GW had won five straight.
WHO TO WATCH - DAYTON
• The Flyers are batting .245 as a team with 52 doubles, 17 home runs, and 34 steals in 38 games. UD has a team slugging percentage of .335 and on-base percentage of .331.
• Leading the way for Dayton are Cam Silva, who has a .319 average and 11 RBI, and
Robbie Doring, who has a .299 average, 17 extra-base hits, and 26 RBI.
Nick Ryan has driven in 20 to help the cause while 10 different Flyers have double-digit RBI totals.
• Dayton's pitching staff has combined for an ERA of 4.64 with 219 strikeouts compared to 149 walks in 331 2/3 innings of work. The Flyers have held opposing hitters to a .282 average.
• The starting rotation for this weekend is projected to be RHP
Charlie Dant (2-3, 4.40 ERA, 18 K's) on Friday, RHP
Zach Beaver (2-6, 4.14 ERA, 37 K's) on Saturday, and RHP
Austin Cline (1-2, 4.76 ERA, 41 K's) on Sunday.

WHO TO WATCH - THE OPPONENT
• GW has a team batting average of .285, which ranks second in the A-10 behind Richmond. The Colonials have 69 doubles, 177 RBI, and 46 steals in 38 games.
• GW is led by Mark Osis, who has the second-best average at .390 in the league, and Bobby Campbell, who is fifth in average and leads the A-10 in hits with 52. Kevin Mahala has 35 RBI to pace the Colonials as well.
• The pitching rotation is projected to be RHP Bobby LeWarne (5-2, 3.16 ERA, 37 K's) on Friday, LHP Shane Sweeney (2-2, 4.98 ERA, 26 K's) on Saturday, and RHP Brady Renner (0-0, 4.09 ERA, 5 K's) on Sunday.
•    Defensively, the Colonials have a fielding percentage of .974 with 38 errors and 34 double plays.

LAST MEETING
Dayton and GW met three teams last season in A-10 action, on the road in Washington, D.C. The Colonials took all three of the contests by margins of three runs or less. The finale on April 12, 2016 was a 3-2 loss for UD with RBI coming from Doring and Huesman.
LAST OUTING
The Flyers suffered a hard-fought 4-3 defeat at Northern Kentucky Wedensday in 11 innings on the road. Dayton led early on 3-0, but was unable to take advantage of base runners late in the game.
The Colonials also fell in their last outing with a 2-1 loss at Georgetown Wednesday. GW took the initial lead with an RBI from Matt Consentino, but the Bulldogs answered with two runs in the fourth, which would be all they would need for the win.
STATISTICAL RANKINGS
The Flyers rank second in the A-10 in hit by pitch, fourth in home runs, second in sacrifice bunts, and fourth in shutouts.
Individually,
Robbie Doring is third in hit by pitch and home runs, while ranking fourth in runs and third in total bases.
Zach Beaver is third in starts as well.
GW leads the A-10 in fielding percentage and sacrifice bunts while ranking second in batting average, double plays, doubles, hits, shutouts, and steals.
Individually, Mark Osis is second in batting average. Kevin Mahala leads the league in doubles while Bobby Campell leads the conference in hits. Andrew Selby is first in the A-10 in sac bunts as well.
ON THE BIG STAGE
Dayton will have three games televised statewide on Time Warner Cable Sports Channel this season. The Flyers played Toledo on March 22 already and Ohio on April 12. The next televised game is vs. George Washington on April 22.
UP NEXT
The Flyers will travel to Kentucky on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. contest against the Wildcats. The game will be aired live on SEC Network.
