WEEKEND PREVIEW• The University of Dayton baseball team will return to Atlantic 10 action this weekend at George Mason with a three-game conference series. The weekend opens Friday at 3 p.m. with game two Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
• The Flyers enter the series with an 8-20 record overall and a 1-5 A-10 mark. Dayton was swept by conference favorite Saint Louis in the opening weekend before taking one of three at VCU last weekend. UD is looking to get back on the right track at GMU this weekend.
• George Mason will take on Towson on Wednesday before welcoming the Flyers for the series this weekend. Entering the week, the Patriots are 8-20 overall and 1-5 in A-10 play. Head Coach Bill Brown is in his 35th season at the helm.
WHO TO WATCH - DAYTON• The Flyers are batting .227 as a team with 38 doubles, 15 home runs, and a .330 slugging percetange. UD has stolen 20 bases this season and drawn 110 free passes.
• Leading Dayton is
Robbie Doring, with a .333 average, 22 runs scored, seven home runs, and 18 RBI.
Glenn Jones,
Aaron Huesman,
Mark Giesler, and
Nick Ryan have all chipped in double-digit RBI totals.
• Dayton's pitching staff has combined for an ERA of 4.98 with 150 strikeouts compared to 111 walks in 238 1/3 innings of work.
• The starting rotation for this weekend will be
Charlie Dant (1-3, 6.19 ERA) on Friday,
Zach Beaver (2-4, 3.77 ERA) on Saturday, and
Austin Cline (1-2, 4.59 ERA) on Sunday.
• The Flyers are posting a .961 fielding percentage with 40 errors and 25 double plays.
WHO TO WATCH - THE OPPONENT• George Mason offensively is batting .227 as well, with a .334 slugging percentage and a .337 on-base percentage. The Patriots have 41 doubles, 10 triples, and 12 home runs this season in 28 games.
• Kent Blackstone leads GMU with 16 RBI and 12 extra-base hits while Brady Acker has 10 RBI and a .352 average.
• The pitching rotation for the Patriots is scheduled to be RHP Tyler Zombro (1-5, 6.69 ERA) on Friday, LHP Joe Williams (0-4, 5.75 ERA) on Saturday, and LHP Brian Marconi (0-2, 5.40 ERA) on Sunday.

LAST MEETINGDayton and George Mason did not meet last season, but squared off in the 2014 Atlantic 10 tournament in the first round on May 21. The Patriots defeated the Flyers 4-3 in St. Louis, Mo.

The Patriots lost all three games in series against Saint Louis. GMU let up the most runs of the season with 15 twice against Saint Louis. On Sunday, Saint Louis scored the winning run in the 7th inning to complete the three-game sweep.
ON THE BIG STAGEDayton will have three games televised statewide on Time Warner Cable Sports Channel this season. The Flyers played Toledo on March 22 already and will now play vs. Ohio on April 12 and vs. George Washington on April 22.
FLYERS PICKED TO FINISH 11TH IN A-10The Atlantic 10 released their 2016 preseason poll and picked Dayton to finish 11th in the conference this season. Saint Louis was tabbed to take home the regular season title with seven first-place votes, followed by VCU (four first-place votes), and Rhode Island (two first-place votes). The Flyers finished 12th last season.
