DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton baseball team will head just down the road to Fairborn for a neighborly showdown with Wright State University Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

The Flyers head into the final week of the 2016 regular season with an 18-33 record overall and a 7-14 Atlantic 10 mark. Dayton has won two straight and will look to carry that success on the road at WSU Tuesday. UD is 9-19 away from home this season. The doubleheader sweep last Friday ended a five-game skid for the Flyers.

Wright State has a 38-14 record overall this year with a 21-5 Horizon League record and 16-5 home mark. The Raiders already boast a win over Dayton this season to go with victories over No. 8 N.C. State, Georgia, and Cincinnati.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS – DAYTON
  • Offensively, the Flyers are batting .248 as a team through 51 games with a .342 slugging percentage, .326 on-base percentage, and 46 steals. Dayton has 74 doubles and 23 home runs as well.
  • Leading the way for Dayton are Robbie Doring, who has 13 doubles, eight home runs, and 36 RBI, and Aaron Huesman, who is batting .273 with 11 extra-base hits and 26 RBI.
  • The pitching staff has combined for a 4.43 ERA with 285 strikeouts compared to 186 walks in 444 2/3 innings of work.
  • LHP Mason Kutruff is projected to get the start Tuesday for the Flyers, enter the game with a 6.45 ERA, 2-5 record, and 20 strikeouts.
  • Defensively, Dayton has a .959 fielding percentage with 78 errors and 38 double plays.

WHO TO WATCH – THE OPPONENTS
  • Wright State is batting .283 overall with a .430 slugging percentage, 86 steals, 87 doubles, and 41 home runs. The Raiders have 328 RBI this season through 52 games.
  • The Raiders are led by Ryan Fucci, who has nine home runs, a .321 average, and 50 RBI, and Gabe Snyder, who has plated 42 more with nine home runs.
  • WSU has a team ERA of 3.48 with 328 strikeouts and 124 walks in 460 innings of work. Jack Van Horn leads the team with six saves.
  • Defensively, the Raiders have a .973 fielding percentage with 55 errors and 43 double plays turned.

LAST MEETING
  • The last time these two teams met was in the opening game of the Flyer Classic back on March 11 this year at Time Warner Cable Stadium. In that contest, the Raiders came out on top 1-0 after WSU's Jesse Scholtens threw a perfect game against the Flyers.

  • The Flyers won both games of a doubleheader at home against Davidson last Friday, picking up a 7-3 victory in game one and 8-3 victory in game two. Zach Beaver got the win in the opener with six strong innings while Austin Cline won game two with 6 2/3 shutout innings. Robbie Doring drove in three in game one with Aaron Huesman doing the same in the nightcap.
  • The Raiders also played a doubleheader in their last action with a pair of games at home against Milwaukee Saturday. WSU split the series with a 5-1 loss in the opener and 6-1 win in the finale. In game two, Trevor Swaney improved his record to 8-1 on the season with six innings on the mound while Jason DeFevers plated two runs.
