DAYTON, Ohio – University of Dayton men and women's tennis teams announced their fall schedule for the 2016 season. The men's team will compete in four outings and the women will compete in three.
The men's team will kick off the fall season at the Louisville Fall Invite September 9-11. The following week, September 16-18, both the men's and women's teams will travel to Mason, Ohio to compete at the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational, which Dayton is co-hosting with Northern Kentucky University. The women's team will then travel to Wright State September 30-October 2 to compete in the Wright State Hidden Dual.
On October 1-9 the men's team will travel to Tulsa, Okla. to compete in the prestigious Intercollegiate Tennis Association's All-American Championships, with specific dates, times and pairings to be announced later this fall. The women's team will go to Cincinnati for the University of Cincinnati Hidden Dual for their final outing of the season on October 14-15. The following week the men's team will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. for the ITA Regionals at the University of Tennessee to complete their fall campaign.
The men's team returns all but one for the 2016-2017 season, with key returners
Jordan Benjamin, who was the A-10 Outstanding Rookie Performer and member of the All-Atlantic 10 first team, and
Carsten Fisher, who was also first team All-Atlantic 10.
Similarly, the women's team returns nearly all of the players from last season's roster, with
Marlys Bridgham, who was first team All-Atlantic 10 for back-to-back seasons, headlining the key returners.
