NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The University of Dayton men's cross country team was picked to finish ninth in the conference in the 2016 Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country preseason poll released Tuesday.
The Flyers are projected to repeat last year's performance of ninth at the 2015 A-10 Championship. At that meet, senior
Hunter Johnston led Dayton and earned All-Conference honors after finishing in the Top 15
Atlantic 10 coaches picked Dayton ahead of Richmond, George Washington, Rhode Island, VCU, and St. Bonaventure. Saint Louis, Duquesne, and Fordham came in just ahead of the Flyers.
Saint Joseph's is the favorite going into the season and looking to repeat last year's title.
The Flyers will open the 2016 season on Saturday at their home meet, the
Rich Davis Flyer 5K Challenge, at Indian Riffle Park in Kettering, Ohio.
