The University of Dayton women's soccer team (0-3-0, 0-0-0 A-10) hosts Xavier (2-1-1) this Friday, Sept. 2 at 5 p.m. at Baujan Field. Admission is free. The match will be aired on Time Warner Cable TV. Nina DiGuardi Vasiliu (color commentary) and Alex Mikos (play-by-play) will have the call.
Promotions for the Xavier match include:

The Flyers then host Purdue (2-2-0) Sunday, Sept. 4 at 1 p.m.. This match will be streamed on the Atlantic 10 Network for free.

• The Flyers finished the 2015 season with a 10-9-1 overall record and an 8-2-0 mark in the Atlantic 10, finishing second in the league's regular season standings.
• Dayton lost two seniors to graduation who accounted for 52 percent of the Flyers' goal scoring in 2015:
Ashley Campbell (17) and
Nicole Waters (6); 23 of the 44 Flyer goals scored. They also accounted for 53 percent of UD's assists last year: Waters (17) and Campbell (9); 26 of 49.
• Dayton's leading returning goal scorer is junior
Alexis Kiehl (8 goals), who was named to the 2016 A-10 Preseason Team. She was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 forward in 2015 and a second team selection in 2014 as a freshman. She accounts for all three of UD's goals scored this season. She is ranked 20th in the nation in goals scored per game.

Kaelyn Johns started every game in goal as a true freshman last year. She finished her rookie campaign with 79 saves and a 1.65 GAA.
SCOUTING XAVIER
• The Musketeers are 2-1-1 to start the season. Xavier started the season 2-0 with wins over Evansville (2-0) and Eastern Kentucky (2-0). Xavier tied Ball State 1-1 and most recently, came off a 2-1 loss at Pitt.
• Tori Doss leads Xavier with two goals scored, including one game-winner. Samantha Dewey leads X in assists with two, plus has scored one goal. Rachel Piccus has started all four matches and owns a .71 GAA with 22 saves.
• The Musketeers are coming off an 8-9-1 season in which they finished seventh in the BIG EAST with a 2-6-0 conference record.
SCOUTING PURDUE
• Purdue is 2-2-0 going into the week. The Boilermakers play nationally-ranked West Virginia Thursday. They have wins over Marshall (2-1) and Cincinnati (2-1 in OT). *Dayton defeated Marshall 3-2 in an exhibition match to start the 2016 season, and lost 2-1 to UC in double OT with just 14 seconds left in the match. Purdue has losses to Montana (2-1 in OT) and Baylor (5-1).
• Purdue is led by Hannah Leinert's two goals and two assists. Andrea Petrina has two goals and one assist. Mikayla Lasky has scored both the Boilermakers' game-winners.
• Purdue was predicted to finish 11th in the 2016 Big Ten preseason poll.
THE SERIES
• Dayton leads the series vs. Xavier 25-8-3 and has won the last 14 matchups. The Flyers are 12-3-1 when hosting the Musketeers at Baujan Field. The last meeting was a 3-0 Flyer win at Baujan Field on Oct. 13, 2012.
• The Flyers leads the series 2-0 over the Boilermakers. Dayton defeated Purdue 3-1 on Sept. 6, 1998 in Purdue's inaugural season. UD defeated Purdue the following season 3-1 at Baujan Field.

• The Flyers are 215-62-20 all-time in games played at Baujan Field. UD owns a .762 winning percentage in those matches. In the last six years, Dayton is 60-11-5 at home, an astounding .821 winning percentage at Baujan.

FLYERS ARE FAVORED AGAIN
• For the eighth consecutive year, the Dayton women's soccer team has been chosen as the 2016 Atlantic 10 Conference preseason favorite in a vote conducted by the league's 14 head coaches. The Flyers earned 185 votes and eight first place votes to take the top spot in the rankings.
DAYTON'S A-10 BACKGROUND
• Dayton has won the A-10 Tournament Championship more than any other team in the conference: nine times (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014).
• UD has also won or shared 11 Atlantic 10 Regular Season titles (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2013). The next closest is Massachusetts with five.

Mike Tucker is in his 22nd season at UD and has amassed an overall record of 304-117-30 overall and 163-31-11 vs. A-10 opponents.
