DAYTON, Ohio- The University of Dayton men's Cross Country will compete in the All-Ohio Championship in Cedarville, Ohio on Friday, September 30
th. The race will begin at 2 p.m. at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course. Dayton also competed in the event last year taking home sixth place.
This weekend, the Flyers will compete against a loaded field, including regionally ranked Ohio, Ohio State, Miami, and Akron.
Last week, the Flyers took third place at E. King CC Course at the Friendship Invitational. UD has run on this course several times over the last few years, which should provide some comfort level. Sophomore
Luke Hoover led the way for the Flyers with a time of 26:39.2, a new personal record. Senior
Hunter Johnston did not run at the event last weekend, as he ran Friday in the National Catholic Invitational in South Bend. Johnston took sixth place in that race with a time of 25:30.6. Sophomore
Spencer Danielson also recorded a Top 10 finish last week.
At last year's All-Ohio Championship, Johnston led the Flyers, finishing 11
th with a time of 24:58.06, a new personal record at the time. Senior
Ethan Louis also ran a 25:19.80 last season to finish 21
st individually. Johnston and Danielson have finished in the top ten in both events they have competed in this year. Dayton has finished in the top three at every event so far this season, and will be looking to build on that early success.
Former Dayton athlete, Chris Lemon, currently holds the course record at E. King CC Course.
