DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (9-8-1, 4-4-2 A-10) is the No. 8 seed in the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship and will face the No. 1 seed La Salle Explorers (14-3-2, 9-0-1 A-10) Saturday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinals on the campus of La Salle University at McCarthy Stadium.
• The winner advances to the semifinals to take on the victor of the No. 4 seed Duquesne vs. No. 5 seed George Washington match. That semifinal match will be Friday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. at Sports Backer Stadium in Richmond, Va.
• The championship will be played on Nov. 5 at noon, with the winner earning the A-10's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
THE A-10 FIELD
• Dayton is 1-4-2 this season against the teams that made the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship.
• UD's win came against George Mason, 2-0, at home.
• The Flyers tied VCU, 0-0 at Sports Backers Stadium. Dayton tied Saint Louis 1-1 in double overtime at Hermann Stadium.
• The four losses were against La Salle (4-0 on the road), Saint Joseph's (4-2 on the road), Duquesne (3-1 at home) and George Washington (1-0 at home).
DAYTON'S A-10 BACKGROUND
• Dayton has won the A-10 Tournament Championship more than any other team in the conference: 10 times (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2016).
• UD has also won or shared 11 Atlantic 10 Regular Season titles (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2013). The next closest is Massachusetts with five.

Dayton has appeared in 20 A-10 tournaments, earning a berth every year the Flyers have been a member of the conference.
THE SERIES
• Dayton is 17-7-2 all-time vs. La Salle. The Flyers have not won on the road vs. the Explorers since Oct. 4, 2009, a 2-1 overtime win for UD. Since then, UD has gone 0-4-0 at McCarthy Stadium in Philadelphia. The last meeting was earlier this year on Sept. 28, where the Flyers fell 4-0 at McCarthy Stadium.

Alexis Kiehl recently moved up to fifth all-time at Dayton in goals scored with 44. She passed Lori Davis '88-91. She is one goal from tying Missy Gregg '99-00 in fourth with 45. Kiehl is also fourth in career points with 109. She needs four points to move into a tie for third with Karen Kazmaier '85-87 with 113.
• Kiehl (44 goals, 21 assists) is just the ninth Flyer to amass more than 20 goals and 20 assists in her career.
• Nine different Flyers have scored so far this season:

Kaelyn Johns has started every game of her career in goal. This season she has 96 saves, second-best in the A-10. She has seven shutouts, which is fourth-best in the A-10. Johns has 14 career shutouts, fourth all-time at UD. She needs four to move up to third.

Nadia Pestell is tied for fifth in the A-10 in assists with six.
• Head coach
Eric Golz is in his first season at the helm of the Flyers. He previously served as an assistant at UD in 2011.
SCOUTING LA SALLE
• La Salle is 14-3-2 overall and 9-0-1 in the A-10—the 2017 conference champions.
• The Explorers closed out conference play with a 2-0 win over VCU.
• The Explorers' leading goal scorer during regular season, is redshirt junior Madison Bower with nine goals (second in the A-10) and 25 points (leads the A-10).
• Senior Kristin Haugstad leads La Salle in assists, with eight (2nd in A-10), and has also scored eight goals.
• Redshirt senior Larisa Zambelli has played in all 19 matches in goal for La Salle. She has a .59 GAA, 10 shutouts, and 72 saves.
