DAYTON – The All-Ohio Division I cross country awards were announced and University of Dayton men's cross country runner Chris Negri was named the Male Runner of the Year in the state of Ohio.

The junior from New Jersey led Dayton to its second consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship this season, earning All-Conference honors along the way. He was named the team's most valuable runner and posted four Top 3 finishes, including placing third at the A-10 Championships.

Joining Negri with All-Ohio honors was head coach Jason Ordway, who received the Coaching Staff of the Year Award on both the men's and women's side. He swept both the men's and women's Coach of the Year accolades in the A-10 as well.

"Our men's and women's teams have worked very hard and appreciate these awards for their efforts," Ordway stated. "We came together this year as two very focused and determined teams. Chris Negri had been a big part of the men's success and I'm pleased he is being recognized for his leadership. He continues to demonstrate his worth to our program."

"The men's and women's staff awards are a humbling recognition," continued Ordway. "Much like the athletes, the staff has really come together towards a common goal. Grace Nofsinger has done great work as our new Director of Operations, Rich Davis continues to provide sage advice as my assistant, and Mark Thobe has done excellent work with our strength and conditioning programs. It truly is a pleasure to work with these amazing individuals. We have had a very successful season and I'm proud we are being recognized for it by the All-Ohio voting committee."

Xavier's Madeline Britton was named the Female Runner of the Year in the state of Ohio.
