#UDWSOC 2017 Season In Review

The Flyers Posted A 9-9-2 Record And Qualified For The Atlantic 10 Championship

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team experienced a lot of change leading up to the kickoff of their 2017 season—a newly dedicated Klesse Soccer Complex and a staff of brand new coaches, to name a few. Although it was a season of adjustments, the Flyers posted a 9-9-2 record and qualified for the Atlantic 10 Championship.

Dayton went 6-3-0 at Baujan Field this year, including starting the season with five consecutive home wins, and outscoring opponents 13-0 in those matches.

The Flyers won the last two matches of conference play against Richmond and Massachusetts to qualify as the eighth seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship. It marked UD's 21st appearance in the A-10 Championship; the Flyers have earned a berth to the tournament every year since becoming a member of the conference.

Dayton hired Eric Golz as the fourth coach in the history of the program, taking over for Mike Tucker, who led the Flyers for 22 seasons. The Flyers have won 21 Atlantic 10 women's soccer Regular Season and Championship titles and made 10 NCAA appearances.

2017 Highlights and Awards:
  • Alexis Kiehl tallied a league-leading 12 goals, bringing her career goals total to 45, tied for fourth all-time at UD. She is just one of nine Flyers to tally more than 20 goals and 20 assists in her career (45 goals, 21 assists).
  • Nine different Flyers scored this season, including those who scored their first collegiate goals: Kaitlynn Kiehl (three goals) Keagin Collie (two goals), and Jordan Pauley (one goal, the golden goal in Dayton's 1-0 win over Xavier.).
  • Nadia Pestell led the Flyers with six assists, and Quincy Kellett, Micayla Livingston, and Keagin Collie each had five assists.
