NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Two University of Dayton softball team members were recognized by the Atlantic 10 Monday with weekly awards. Sophomore Kyle Davidson was named Co-Player of the Week while junior Manda Cash earned Co-Pitcher of the Week accolades after the Flyers' 3-1 weekend at the Miami Invitational.

Davidson shares Player of the Week honors with Saint Joseph's Amanda Kulp and Lauren Quense was also named Pitcher of the Week. George Washington's Priscilla Martinez garnered Rookie of the Week recognition. The awards were based off performances from games held Mar. 13-19.

Davidson helped lead the Flyers to a 3-1 weekend at the Miami Invitational by going 7-for-14 at the plate over four starts. In Dayton's 14-6 win over Fort Wayne on Saturday, Davidson was a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored in her second of three multi-hit games. For the weekend, the sophomore from Lewis Center, Ohio, tallied 16 putouts and one assist while posting a .500 batting average, .500 on-base percentage and a .714 slugging percentage.

Cash worked a total of 12 innings over the weekend for Dayton as the Flyers posted a 3-1 weekend at the Miami Invitational. On Saturday, she tossed six hitless innings against Detroit Mercy while tallying eight strikeouts to only two walks in a 6-1 win. On Sunday, the junior again put in six innings of work giving up three runs while striking out five. For the weekend, she posted a 1.75 ERA with 13 strikeouts to four walks. The Columbus, Ohio, native also made two plate appearances, recording a hit in her only at-bat against Fort Wayne. 

Dayton returns to the diamond Tuesday and Wednesday with a home-and-away series with Wright State. The Flyers will host the Raiders Tuesday at 4 p.m. and will travel to Fairborn Wednesday for a 6 p.m. tilt.
