NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton junior Manda Cash has been named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday. This is the first weekly honor for the reigning A-10 Pitcher of the Year this season.

Fordham's Madison Shaw was named Player of the Week while Fordham's Madison Aughinbaugh and George Washington's Jenna Cone who were named Co-Rookies of the Week. The awards were based off performances from games held Feb. 27-March 5.

Cash tossed two complete-game wins over the weekend, giving up only one run over 14 innings. On Friday, she worked seven scoreless innings allowing five hits but struck out eight to only one walk. On Saturday, Cash allowed a single run over seven innings of work while striking out nine and walking none. She posted a 0.50 ERA for the weekend and holds a team-best 2.43 ERA and has a 2.65 strikeout to walk ratio for the season.

Dayton will open the home portion of its 2017 schedule on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. tilt again intra-state rival Ohio at UD Softball Stadium.
