DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team has announced a change in its schedule for the weekend of March 10 due to the impending weather.
The Flyer will now play at Wright State at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 and at home against Western Illinois with a 3 p.m. start on Friday, March 10. If weather permits, UD will host Western Illinois for another game on Sunday, March 12 at noon.

The Flyers have started the season 3-6, most recently coming off a trip to the USA Baseball National Training Complex for the Irish Classic where they defeated UMass Lowell 13-8 and fell to William & Mary 7-0 and Maryland 11-2. Dayton's team batting average sits at .276, led by senior
Maverick Prine, who holds a .435 mark. The Davison, Mich. native went 5-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and six runs batted in the Flyers victory over the weekend. Sophomores

Brandon Smith (.333) also turn in batting averages over the .300 threshold.
UD's pitching has been its Achilles heel early in the year, but sophomore
Tyler Henry has provided a bright spot. The lefty has a 1-0 record and also recorded a save in 11.1 innings of work over six outings.
ABOUT WRIGHT STATE
Wright State has started off the year making headlines across collegiate baseball, taking two of three in a series opening weekend against No. 10 Clemson, and then winning another at No. 4 South Carolina. Overall, the Raiders are 7-5 on the season, most recently falling to Kentucky, 15-1.
WSU's hitters have turned in an average of .234 on the season, with only one player, Seth Gray, hitting over .300 with an average of .333. The Raiders pitching staff has a collective ERA of 4.53, and are led by Danny Sexton. The redshirt junior has a microscopic 0.83 ERA in three starts, pitching over seven innings per start and striking out 16. Opponents are hitting just .169 against the left-hander.
ABOUT WESTERN ILLINOIS
The Leathernecks have had a tough start to the 2017 campaign, going 0-10 to start the year. Western Illinois started off the season with four games against national powers Texas Tech and Mississippi State, and have since fallen victim to Southeast Missouri State and Southern Illinois.
Western Illinois is hitting just .220 as a team on the season, led by Adam McGinnis at .367. McGinnis is joined by Justin Fitzpatrick (.333), Johnathan Fleek (.310) and Dave Dobrinich (.308) with averages over .300, but only Fleek has played in all ten games this season.
The Leathernecks' pitching staff has turned in some strong numbers, led by starter Ian Koch. The sophomore has thrown a team-high 17.2 innings and allowed just six earned runs. His 3.06 ERA leads the starting pitching, and his 16 strikeouts are the highest on the team.

Tate Hagan was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Feb. 27 for his performance from Feb. 20-26. The Tallahassee, Fla. native is hitting .286 on the season, leads the team in home runs (3), and RBI (8) and has an on-base average of .394
